This is one for those children who find regulating their noise levels hard. Every chart I found had a 'red' zone, which I find is associated with stop or going outside. I like to explain voice however, as having an important function and talking about the levels of noise and what they mean.
Over time, children can also learn to adapt this according to where they are, who they're with and how that person is feeling. We can do this through modelling of "I'm feeling overwhelmed today. I need quiet around me, so would love if you could come up to me quietly, or play in the play space when you need.". Adults can also model their own regulation, such as "Oh you were having quiet time. I could see you needed quiet and I started talking. I'll just read quietly next to you"
