The Brain Forest Classroom Presentation: A Neurodiversity Lesson for Primary School Teachers
This is a ready-to-teach neurodiversity presentation and worksheet pack for primary school teachers, designed to be used after reading The Brain Forest with your class. It helps students across Foundation to Year 6 talk about how different brains work as a shared, friendly language.
If you’ve read The Brain Forest to your class, you’ve probably seen it happen already. The hands go up, someone says “My brain is like that,” or “My cousin has ADHD!”, and the conversation just wants to keep on happening.
Well, this is for that moment
I made it because so many teachers told me the book opened the door to an onslaught of questions and then they weren’t quite sure what to do with the conversation that followed after. Here are slides that you’re welcome to edit, carrying activities that are pre-prepared of a way of even thinking about diversity and inclusion. Consider this our way of lightening the cognitive load, and saying a giant “Thank you” for even starting the conversations.
